Blame Colin for this….

“Me? I’m scared of everything. I’m scared of what I saw, I’m scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I’m scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life… the way I feel when I’m with you.”

Any comments or suggestions?

Yeah, Morena’s character on Stargate was pretty lame.

Particular seasons of SG1 were good, and particular episodes (eg. the groundhog day episode) were spectacular.

baltar does look exactly like bashir from ds9.

    It’s uncanny, really!

Arrghh! Waddya mean I can’t post pictures!? I had a pic of both of them so everyone could see how similar they look….

Alright, I’ll post it this way…

Click here to compare Julian Bashir to Gaius Baltar. Like I said, uncanny.

Click here to compare an actual cowboy, Gene Autry, to self-professed cowboy, Jon Bon Jovi. Notice that the actual cowboy isn’t wearing eyeliner.

  6. 6 Carl

    ‘Actual cowboy?’

    Is that Roy Fucking Rogers?

  7. 7 Karl Kornfeld

It’s Gene Autry. Played guitar, sang and poked dogies.

Gene Autry was NOT a cowboy. He was a singer. ‘The Yodeling Cowboy’, in fact.

He never worked with cattle… He worked for a railroad until he started singing…

The term ‘cowboy’ comes from the Spanish ‘vaquero’, and of course, most cowboys were Spanish, Mexican, Native American, African-American (ex-slaves) or of mixed descent. The term originated, in fact, in Spain, with cattle herders in the Old World.

Ironic that you basically used a singer to disprove that a… singer is a cowboy.

  10. 10 Colin

    Yay for wikipedia!

  11. 11 Colin

Also, I think he was showing that a singer could be a cowboy. But, by wearing tights and eye makeup, he basically forfeits that right.

  12. 12 Carl

Yeah, I had to look up who Autrey was. Bite me.

Fortunately I remembered enough history to get the cowboy stuff mostly from the dregs of my brain. Little help on the ethnic groups. That’s what encyclopedias are for.

Anyway, you are underscoring my point. Today it is eyeliner and tights. Seventy years ago it was those idiotic shirts and tasseled chaps.

Neither is authentic. Neither was a cowboy. Autry was as much a showman then as Bon Jovi is today.

  13. 13 Colin

    But, he wore mens clothing.

  14. 14 Carl

    Touche.
