The Ugly Truth:  Alright, first off I apologize for the lack of reviews the last few weeks. I’ve been trading colds with my children and working like a bastid.  Jolly Scot Scottish Ale has been hovering in my fridge for a few weeks now.  Pours a deep amber in color, with a thin tan head on it that went away pretty rapidly.  The aroma was full of sweet malt aroma, a bit different than the typical Scotch Ale.  The taste was really smooth, with not a lot of bitterness to it.  I found the taste to be a bit on the sweet side, with what I thought were some toffee or caramel notes to it.  The body was pretty light, which again was different from what I was use to in a Scotch Ale.  The finish was light, without a strong aftertaste to it.  Overall, its not a bad beer.  I think it probably falls in the lighter end of the Scotch Ale spectrum.  For me, I like heavier Scotch Ales the best so this one doesn’t do a lot for me.  That being said, I think this beer will probably have strong appeal for someone who wants the character of a Scotch Ale without the sometimes overbearing tastes involved.  Definitely one to go out and try for yourselves, but for me not something I would drink on a regular basis.

Verdict: For the mass appeal, I’ll give it a 7 out of 10 bottelcaps.
