I heard about this via Wil Wheaton’s blog WWdN: In Exile.
Star Trek: The Tour. A chance to go and see a ton of Trek sets, information, gear and interactive exhibits. Even if I have to battle a Gorn with nothing but a spork as a weapon to get tickets, I’m going to it. Its coming to Boston at some point, so keep checking the site for tour dates. There is even supposedly an exhibit where you get to star in a mini-episode where they cut you into a scence with Kirk and Spock.
This will be the coolest damn thing since Scotty started a bar fight against some Klingons in “The Trouble with Tribbles”

I have nowhere else to put this, so I’m sticking it in the comments area of a post about Star Trek. Because it’s a Star Wars-related comment. And the hackles that rise on the necks of geeks that can’t stand those who mix up the two is entertaining, even if it’s done purposely.
You all know of my 2+ years in Star Wars Galaxies (SWG). And you know my venomous distaste for SOE and all things Sony as a result of the shit they pulled on over 200,000 players. Near the end of my tenure, I wrote an opinion piece on crit-miss that I ported over to the SWG forums, where it was promptly deleted within 24 hours and got me banned for “trolling”. Apparently it stuck around long enough for a few people to copy and save it. And after some haphazard googling I accidentally found where someone quoted it almost a year after I had written it…

What makes this noteworthy to me though is that the “somebody” who quoted it is Timothy Burke, an active author at Terra Nova. http://terranova.blogs.com/
Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, ya know? Now I wish I had my entire online journal back for nostalgia’s sake.
