Those listed were just in Boston-propper. It is a state law and there were many bars across the state, including a club across the street from my workplace, that did in fact close. According to the article, the ones that were given extenions were mostly just late in filing paperwork re their fire system upgrades. The waivers, as I understand it, were for clubs that are technically licensed as bars, but are generally operated in some other manner, e.g., as restaurants, or whatever.

According to this morning's Boston Globe, 64 of the 67 Boston bars slated to close have been either given extensions or waivers. Only three clubs were closed: Milky Way Lounge & Lanes in JP; Kay's Oasis in Dorchester and Packy O'Connors in Roxbury.
