The Ugly Truth: New work schedule is kicking my ass, that’s what the ugly truth is.  Alright, Saranac Pumpkin Ale.  Didn’t like it, end of story.  Wish I could get more verbose, but that’s the frank truth.  Didn’t like it, wouldn’t get it again.  Poured a deep chestnut brown in color, with an off white head.  Aroma smelled heavily of allspice and cloves.  And by heavily I mean it smelled like someone showed a canister of the stuff up my nose.  The taste I found was weak.  I got not a single hint of pumpkin.  It basically tasted like I was eating a piece of pumpkin pie without the pumpkin.  Nothing but spices and some vanilla.  Which sucks, because I really like the taste of pumpkin.  The body was fairly medium in weight and it does drink relatively easy, just doesn’t do anything for me tastewise.  This is definitely going to be one of those “buy it yourself, see what you think” beers.  I personally just didn’t like it.

Verdict: yeah let’s see….hell 5 out of 10.
