The Ugly Truth: Alright, I’m really damn tired so this is gonna be short. This beer…I did not like. This was the last offering in my first beer of month club shipment and it was definitely the worst. I originally started pouring it into a snifter for some reason, and then changed over to the dimpled mug so I don’t know what effect that may have had. Probably not alot. So deep, deep red color which was probably the best part of this whole beer. The head was strong but went away very quickly, so not sure where the dense comment comes from. The aroma was wierd. One minute it was tangy sweet, the next it was roasted malt, then it was caramel. So that messed it up for me a bit. The taste was lacking from the start. The body was pratically nonexistant, the flavor was thin and the aftertaste was so unpredictable that it made the overall experience unsatisfying. I had drank one out of the bottle when the shipment first arrived, and I thought it was alright then but I’ve changed my mind since. I actually had trouble finishing it because I found the taste less than pleasurable. Try it for yourself, but I’m glad I didn’t spend money on it.
Verdict: Too tired for wittiness. Illuminator gets a low score, coming in with a 3 out of 10 bottlecaps.
