The Ugly Truth: Man, 8:59am on a Monday and I’m already ready to kill one of my coworkers. Such is life. Alright, Shipyard Export Ale. Export Ale pours a nice golden brown color with an off white foamy head to it that went down fairly rapidly. There was a decent amount of carbonation rising to the surface from the bottom of the glass as well. The aroma was fairly clean, with a nose of hops to it and I thought maybe some roasted malt smell but that could have just been me. The taste was really enjoyable in my opinion. I found it to have a good range of flavors, with the hops coming through just enough without being overbearing to the taste. The finish was definitely very clean and didn’t leave a lot of aftertaste to it. The whole experience was very smooth with a medium body to it. In the overall, a very enjoyable beer to drink, one of those “I’m going to go grab a six pack to share with my friends” kind of beers. I looked a round a little and it seems like you either like this beer or you don’t. It isn’t the greatest golden ale I’ve had to date, but I thought it was rather good.
Verdict: Our amount of export has risen, with us now shipping 8 out of 10 bottlecaps across the Pond.
