The Ugly Truth: I’m finally getting the overdue beer review done. The 2 week old son and the 2 year old daughter have been keeping me and the lady moving so I’ve been slacking off on writing the review. This is the first of the beers that came in the mail from the Beer of the Month Club and after trying a bottle of each it is probably my favorite. This is a really damn good beer. Dock Street Amber pours a nice cooper/amber color with a fairly minimal head. The head rapidly goes down, leaving some foam islands on the top of the beer. There is a fairly high level of carbonation in the beer from the streams of bubbles coming up from the bottom. The aroma is strong, with a really good nose of hops to it and the fruity character mentioned in the description is definitely there. The taste is just flat out great. The beer is hearty, while maintaining a light to medium body and a really smooth taste. The taste is very smooth and the finish is crisp and clean with no hoppy aftertaste or orphan flavors floating about. Overall, this is a very refreshing beer that would be perfect with BBQ or just to pick up a six pack to have with friends after work. On the grand scale, it might not be the greatest amber I’ve ever had, but it is definitely one of the most easily drinkable.
Verdict: “Am I on Dock Street?”…”No, you’re on 8 out of 10 bottlecaps boulevard.”…“That is a really strange street name”…”That it is lad, that it is.”

New feature to the beer reviews: you get to see what song I was listening to when I hit the “Post” button via FoxyTunes.
Not that you probably care, but hey why not.
On another note, this makes beer review #90. I’m trying to find some beer worthy of being #100 for when that review gets posted. I’m thinking something with a really nasty high ABV.
Suggestion for beer 100?
Hmm.
Well, I’ve got some Stone Ruination IPA in the fridge right now. It got a 99 on whatever that beer rating scale is.
Actually, I’m a bit frightened. I know it’s going to be hoppy as all get-out.
Other suggestions… have you tried Victory’s Hop Devil?
I’m going to dig through your beer posts and print out a list so I don’t end up repeating myself.
Anyway, the Victory brewmeisters put out some good stuff. Gold Monkey is amazing, the Hop Devil is very good and the Storm King is D-licious.
Also, I think I’m going to try to track down any beer you give 8 or more bottlecaps too. A quest, if you will.
More beer!
p.s. I hear a lot about a bitter-ness scale. Do you have a link for a bitter meter?
I’ll see if I can find a good IBU scale to link to.
