The Ugly Truth: As we move our way through my mixed 6 pack, we now find ourselves landing on St. George Pale Ale. Which is nice, since I was due for a good tasting pale ale. St. George Golden Ale poured a nice straw/amber color, with a minimal head to it. The aroma was strong in the hops I thought, but that didn’t translate when I tasted it. I guess that’s what the “high perceived bitterness” is maybe? The taste was good though, with this initial hint of bitterness that quickly faded to a medium body beer with a pretty smooth flavor to it. I found the flavor to be somewhat mild myself, which made it easily drinkable and refereshing. Towards the end, the strong citrus flavor did become more apparent and did a nice job of adding to the taste without overpowering it. All in all, it was a very tasty golden ale though I didn’t find anything that made it stand out from other golden ales I have had. Still, I do recommend trying it because it is a good beer and you won’t be wasting your money on it.

Verdict: Af’ter I slew tha’ dragon, I hauled all of tha’ treasure out that it ha’ hoarded. I only lef’t bahind 7 out of 10 bottlecaps.
