Dungeons and Dragons?!?!?!

Yeah, I saw it.

Future suppliment episode suggestions:

-geek books

-old geek life changing video games (from the 80s)

-geek food

I agree about Children of Men. I thought it was a great movie.

Sorta along the same lines, apparently they are looking to turn Y: The Last Man into a movie. I really hope they don't screw it up. I have already had discussions with someone as to who the cast should be. It's amazing how much fun it is to cast a movie that is 99% hot women.

If I recall correctly, the cast included:
Jessica Alba
Natalie Portman
Kiera Knightly
Lucy Liu
Gina Torres
Grace Park

There were many more, but my memory fails me.

And, yes, I realize I have assembled "a cast of totally banagable chicks" as Carl put it.

And Buckaroon Bonzai. Oh, and don't forget Dark City. (anyone who hasn't seen Dark City, go now - do not waste a moment! hehe)

we just saw Children of Men tonight. That goes on my new list of faves. Damn well done.

"Rad" was fantastic, but nowhere near as cheesy and poorly acted as "BMX Bandits". Plus you get to see an afro'd Nicole Kidman.

Now "Explorers"... that was a fantastically geeky "kid" movie.

In keeping with the "no spoilers", all I'll say is that there is one film here that made me say "bleep YEAH!" when brought up, as I probably could repeat it line for line at one point in my young life.

It paled in comparison with BMX Bandits, though.

I had tried to post a list, but its not showing up. If it ever does, add this to the end:

Buckaroo Bonzai: the greatest science geek movie made in the 1980's PERIOD. There is no questions. I have done my best to model my scientific career on that movie.

Okay, this may spill into your next proposed list, but here's offhand a number of movies that deserve at least a mention:

Gattaca: If you're a geneticist, you fear this movie because it is exactly what will happen in the future if you can custom build your kid.

Soylent Green: the movie Colin was hinting at.

Rollerball: watch the 1975 original, not the 2002 P.O.S. remake.

Robot Jox: Post-WWIII, all disputes between countries are settled with gladiatorial combat involving giant robots. What is more geeky than that?

Krull: the fantasy version of Star Wars, except that there's no incest. And its got Clydesdales that fly.

Battle Beyond the Stars: The scifi remake of The Seven Samurai by Jimmy Murakami. A must see, and along with the Magnificent Seven and 7Sams constitutes a movie theme trilogy.

The Last Starfighter: Every single video game geeks dream put to film. One of the best movies ever made.

Hackers: How was this not mentioned?

Finally, any movie involving Rutger Hauer made before 2000. This includes: Ladyhawke, Split Second, Omega Doom and Crossworlds.
