The Ugly Truth: I think I’ve mentioned it before, but I am a fan of Magic Hat Brewery. They are probably one of the better breweries in the Northeast. Granted, sometimes you have no idea what you are about to drink based on the names and labels of the beer but I’ve never had one of their beers I didn’t like. Roxy Rolles does nothing to break that trend. Roxy Rolles is one of their seasonal ales, but you should be able to find it even though I think its at the end of the run for this year. The beer itself pours a nice amber color, with a solid tan head to it that was fairly lacy as it went down. I found it to have a bit of a sweet aroma to it, and I found the taste to be similiar. The taste was smooth with the medium body one expects from an amber and finished with a touch of bitterness. It has a hint of sweetness throughout the whole taste, which I found to compliment the other flavors well. Making an amber tinged with sweetness is not the easiest thing in the world and I’ve had some that have gone horribly, horribly wrong. In tribute to a great comic that Dave put me on to awhile ago, the whole experience was like riding a fatboy to Vegas, except the fatboy was a set of drums and God was pouring beer in my face. Overall, a good time to be had by all.

Verdict: This baby is firing on all 9 out of 10 bottlecaps worth of cylinders.
