The Ugly Truth: Okay first off the bottle looks like something that was made in my kitchen. The liquid inside the bottle certainly didn’t taste that way thank god. So this was a interesting Belgian ale. It poured a orange/gold color with a pretty good frothy head. The aroma was pretty clean, with the lime smell definately coming through. The taste was a bit different and I’m not sure how well I really liked it. The body was light and fairly smooth. There was a bit of bite at the end and a definate citrus taste that added a bit of sourness to the finish. For some reason, after each drink my tongue felt like it had dried out some. The taste got to be a bit much by the end for me though and definately lowered the overall experience. I would recommended trying it, but for me it ranks somewhat low in the range of Belgian ales.
Verdict: This beer would be a perfect way for sailors to avoid scurvy while hoisting 6 out of 10 bottlecaps worth of sail cloth.
On an unrelated note, I went to a Street Dogs/Bouncing Souls concert last night and got fuck all drunk. I am evidently now too old to do any kind of serious drinking at concerts anymore.
I have the message in my voicemail to prove you are probably too old to be doing this. Maybe the voicemail will make its way into this week’s podcast.
