Brewery: Foster’s Brewing, Southbank, Victoria, Australia

Brewery Description: A naturally crafted ale with a deep rich colour, full flavoured malt character and refreshingly smooth taste.

Brew Style: Lager, 4.5% ABV

Recommended Glassware: English pint, Shaker, straight from the can

The Ugly Truth: Ahhh Foster’s, Australian for “let’s drink a gigantic cheap beer, get f@cked up and sodomize a kangeroo!!!”. Okay, okay maybe its not that bad. I actually like Foster’s and the Special Bitter is good as well. I drank it straight from the can so I can’t really comment on the color and head, but most people assert that it is amber in color with a good head. As for taste it is pretty darn good actually. Goes smooth, not heavy bite to it and is easily drinkable. Naturally Foster’s should only be bought and enjoyed in the 24oz Oil Can that they are famous for. My brother Nik loves Foster’s and I have to admit I do too. If your looking for a inexpensive lager to just drink for the sake of having something to drink you can do far worse than this. The flavors aren’t complex by any means, but sometimes that is exactly what you are looking for. It does lose some points because frankly I don’t find it to be even remotely bitter and tastes much the same as regular Foster’s. I would love to try a significantly bitter Foster’s, though I suppose that would kill it somewhat. Oh well, its still good stuff.

Verdict: Wait…oh God…oh God…there’s only 6 out of 10 bottlecaps…DINGOS STOLE MY BOTTLECAPS!!!!!
