Be glad that I shield thee…

Protected by invisibleShieldGizmodo points us to a video of some folks abusing their MacBook. Thankfully, it was protected by invisibleSHIELD. The drywall screws certainly did a number on the counter-top, but the shiny, white Apple notebook computer emerged unscathed.

The folks behind the invisibleSHIELD sent some gadget protection BostonGeek’s way. I was happy to test it out on my 30GB iPod. The instructions that were included were quite thorough. Careful application of the shield is necessary. And, initially, I thought the process would be quite painful. But, in all honesty, it wasn’t all that difficult. It does take a tiny bit of patience, however, you are rewarded with a virtually invisible force of protection. Some bubbles are difficult to work out of the adhered “sticker”, but they all but disappeared within 24hrs.

Prior to using the invisibleSHIELD, I used one of the many rubberized “gloves” out on the market for the iPod. It adds bulk to an otherwise slim, sleek device. That always irked me. Now, with the invisbleSHIELD, I can enjoy the iPod in all of its white, clean, slim glory. The one downside to the invisibleShield is that it provides no shock absorption like my previous had. I will just have to remember not to drop it on the concrete.

For the past few weeks I have tossed my iPod in my bag, in my car, on my desk, without concern for the shiny, chrome back or the LCD screen. It has held up remarkably well. I am very tempted to see what they offer to protect an (also) shiny, white DS Lite.

So, if you are looking to protect your gadgets against scratching and keep them looking as good as ever, invisibleSHIELD is the way to go.

Don’t waste your money on the shield for the 2nd Gen. Shuffle. The tolerance is so tight when docking, and therefore it peels the shield back. Had to trim the dock to make it work. Customer service was a total joke, too. No help at all, refused to honor a refund.

I just got a shield for my Blackberry Pearl, in addition my last 3 iPods (classic, video & 20gb 4th gen), my V3 RAZR, and my digital camera have all been protected by the invisible shield. It is the best protection for devices. I have b=never had any problems with the exception of it does add some thickness, my iPods do have a tight fit when going into my Altec Lansing iM7 dock (the sides not the bottom). Highly recommend the shield!
