Auto Assault Beta

There is a new MMORPG called Auto Assault, and the beta is currently out. You have to sign up for the chance to be one of the lucky beta players, but the odds are fairly high that you will be given a beta code. Anyway, I was fortunate enough to be given a beta code and I tried the game out for the first time last night. I have to admit, this is really only the 2nd MMORPG I have played, the first being CoH. It takes place in a world of the future, where there are three groups of beings: human, mutant, and mech. You can check out the website for further info. It definitely has potential to be an immersing and enjoyable game, but I think I need a little more time playing it to definitevely state that. I suggest you try it out, and I would be interested to hear what others think.

One more reasons to get a PC up and running again. Seems like a cool game. Have you played any more? What are the cooperative aspects like?

I have played about an hour or two, and I am just getting a feel for the way the missions work, what placec you can go to, etc. You have a vehicle that you can upgrade and “trick” out, and then in certain areas you walk around in person (Like CoH) and interact with NPC’s. I have yet to do any of the cooperative stuff, but there is potential for getting “convoy’s” together for missions and car races. Unfortunately the standard beta players can only play on the weekends. I guess if you post a lot of comments and feedback, you may get a 24/7 account.

I just saw a trailer for Auto Assault, and I have to say, it looks like a fun game. Too bad no OSX version. Damn, bastids and their windows only games.

Well, if you can scare up something resembling a windows gaming machine, you can give it a spin this weekend. I just got an email from ncsoft pointing me towards their open beta weekend signup.

Got a chance to play this a bit over the weekend. Horrible sound bugs (evil screeching at random intervals horrible) limited my playing time, but it seemed like a decent setup. Definitely needs some more pre-playing research to grok the classes and crafting system than, say, that staple of MMOG comparisons, WoW, but it’s got some potential.
