Snow!

Blizzard of 2006So, as you may have noticed, Carl and I didn’t record the podcast yesterday.  I just had to go outside and play in the snow instead.

Actually, Carl just couldn’t make it to my place to record yesterday.  The snow was pretty heavy, and the parking situation was extremely difficult.  We toyed with remote-recording him over iChat or Skype, but we weren’t too happy with the results.  The drop in quality was much to great.  It would be fine for a 10-minute interview, but not for my co-host.  I mean, it would have impeded your ability to hear the nuances in his long tirades about Jack Thompson and the RIAA.  So, we plan on recording tonight which means that the next episode should be available for downloading tomorrow.  Until then, I shall return to playing in the snow.

“Blizzard of ‘06″? We barely got more’n a foot. Doesn’t it have to be at least 2 for it to qualify for “blizzard of $year” status?

Well, I think it was a blizzard, we just didn’t get hit the hardest. Ok, maybe I shouuld have said “Blizzard-like conditions of 2006″ or “Could-have-been-blizzard of 2006″, but I thought stating Blizzard of 2006 would have made the pictures more accessible in Flickr. :P

Also, I think the classification of blizzard has more to do with windspeeds and visibility and not so much with amount of snowfall. Although, what the heck do I know.

I’m glad you had fun playing in the snow. My back did not find the three hours I had to spend shoveling to be fun at all. :(

Ah, the joys of home ownership.

But still, I actually like the snow. If we a whole winter without at least one big storm dropping 1+ feet of snow on us, it just wouldn’t feel like home…

No local kids to hire? There were plenty walking around my ‘hood looking to make a few bucks on their snow-day.
