Snow…

You go to hell and you die, New England. You and your f****** blizzards with thunder and motherf****** lightning and 8-inch snowfalls in 3 goddam hours.

Oh, and remember kids, put something other than summer ‘touring’ tires on your car if you expect to do anything other than burn rubber for a gods-bedamned hour just to drive a half mile. I just hope I didn’t damage my car.

Seriously, I actually checked into a hotel tonight, because I couldn’t get home. I did eventually get home, but I spent $90 on the hotel room. Had to get one before the went full-up. No one was going anywhere this afternoon.

You checked into a hotel room over a few inches of snow? Seriously.

You know what I did? Shoveled. :)

Wouldn’t hanging out at the mall or going out to eat been a bit cheaper?

The thing that made this storm so different was that it was completely expected and forecasted flawlessly.

Even down to the snow, then rain, then more snow predictions. I think they even got the accumulation right.

Also, seriously…you live in New England. Why, unless you’re driving a sports car, would you ever put anything but all-season tires on your car?

do you mind if I use your opening sentiment in this entry as my “quote of the moment” on the sidebar in my journal? it sums up everything I felt yesterday. I’ll link over here to you for proper credit and pimpage.

and I am wondering — the first part where you say to go to hell and die… are you saying that like Mr. Garrison on South Park? That’s the voice I’m hearing in my head.

    glad you’re cool with it.

    Yeah, pretty much. :-)

Ahhh…you can’t shovel *through* the traffic. I had to check into a hotel room that night too. Took over 6 hours to get from Fall River to Burlington. It’s not so much the snow itself…but the *traffic* bogged down in the snow. I ended up missing my BCRAN exam and had to reschedule - and now have to recert on the CCNA because of the storm. Grrr.

6 hours?!?! Wow. That is just crazy!

I’m really glad, then, that I ended up taking the MBTA commuter rail into Boston that day, since the traffic ended up being so terrible. Even the train was a bit slow on the ride home — but not five hours slow! :(
