Apparently thumbing their nose at the entertainment industry, Neuros has delivered a low-cost way to move your recordings from a DVD player, VCR, DVR, or other device to flash memory or memory sticks.
Bravo, I say. At only $149, it’s hard to resist.

Good to see companies making actual devices that do things that normally require a computer and lots of googling and computer familiarity. They also seem to actually have taken time to think about how people will want to use their stuff (offering free palm and wince media player software, a really nice touch, imo).
As an aside, the 442 looks like pretty much everything I’d want in a portable video player, if I had $400 to spend on one. And it even runs uclinux. Not goddamned bad.
I was going to give you a hard time for the “thumbing their nose” bit, but then I noticed them basically doing just that on their website.
Jesus, it’s like they were tapped into my brain when they developed their toys. They’re having a closeout sale on their 80gb mp3 player. Only, it’s not just an mp3 player. Has an integrated FM tuner, which you can record from, as well as a built-in mic and a line-in for recording. Oh, and it’s also got the “broadcast on fm so you can listen to it on your stereo” itrip functionality built into it. All for $299.
God I fucking hate you Carl. I have _zero_ money to be spending on toys like this.
I purposely wrote “thumbing their nose” because of their philosophy.
Aren’t they just a great friggin’ company?
Heh… I am tempted to get the recorder, dude… and I have no money left after all my acquisitions.
Yes, Carl, your money has been sucked down the Xbox 360 black hole. But, unlike normal black holes, this one leads to a mountain top with daisies, and barmaids, and an oompah band… oh… and video games.
Indeed. The only way this black hole could get any better was if the barmaids turned out to be perpetually 18. And had some sort of vitamin-infused beer with them.
