Of Microsoft and Zombies

Perfectly timed for halloween comes a story of Microsoft hunting down spammers using a zombie.
Microsoft set-up a clean Windows PC and infected it with malicious code (I am guessing this part was particularly easy), in effect, turning it into a zombie. In just 20 days, the zombie PC received 5 million connection requests from [...]

SpikeTV’s Videogame award nominees 2005

SpikeTV has just released a list of the nominees for this year’s videogame awards. Yes, its a sham… but what award shows aren’t? At least this show doesn’t have a bunch of actors thanking “God for the incredible gifts they were given.” Instead we get to listen to Samuel L. “Mutha*****ng” Jackson [...]

I freakin’ kid you not.
Wizards of the Coast is sponsoring an offical Worldwide D&D Game Day.

Ok, for those of you who feel like they haven’t thrown enough money Lucas’ way, there is another chance. You can head over to the Museum of Science for the world premiere of the Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit which happens on October 27th.
Spend freely, I hear George needs a new [...]

Jack Thompson… The Jokes Write Themselves

Oh, Jackie boy. What a fine mess you’ve dug yourself into. It was only a matter of time, though, wasn’t it?
Like Comstock and McCarthy before you, your self-important frothing at the mouth has finally turned you into nothing more than a caricature. Your empty threats, your insane ramblings, your absolute devotion to [...]

Not sure what was going on, but driving back to Boston through Somerville and Cambridge last night proved to be quite interesting when we passed a large number of elephants being led down Route 28 (going northbound).

The gift of… well… gifting.

The most personally useful thing that came out of the recent Apple announcement is the ability to gift songs, albums, and playlists. I don’t have any immediate plans to buy a fancy iPod that sorta plays video and I already own an iMac (although not near as nice as the new one). Being [...]

Barracuda Spam Firewall

I’m the IT manager at my company. Woo. Considering I am a department of exactly one, that means about as much as… well, as nothing. It means nothing. Sorry, I was going somewhere with that simily, but it’s after ten and I’m sleepy.
So, to get back to my point, I get [...]
