One of the things I like most about Flickr is just searching on fairly arbitrary tags. If you aren’t familiar with Flickr, it is a photo sharing service that has some social networking tech built-in. The basic premise is that you upload photos and tag them with some meta information like the place you took the picture, the subject(s) of the picture, etc. In addition to the tagging, you have your own contacts list that enables you to see the photos that your friends and family have recently added. There are also groups that you can join where users can share pictures that have a common theme and where they can also engage in discussion via the discussion threads.
Anyway, I happen to plug in the tag “trash” and ran across this great picture. I suppose the thing that I liked most about the picture was that it was incredbily unexpected. With the tag “trash” I was expecting some large piles of pretty common trash. Of course, I was hoping for something a little more special… and Flickr never seems to disappoint.
Giant, fluffy, happy Care Bears on the curb just wating for some men in jumpsuits to toss them in the back of the truck where they will be crushed.
I think it’s more like the Care Bears were enjoying their success, what with the toys and the cartoons, so they developed a pretty bad coke habit. You know, snorting off Strawberry Shortcake’s ass and stuff at parties. Then the show got cancelled and the money ran out. Now they live on the streets, panhandling…
