For those of you who are intersted in what I was doing while St. Thomas, I have uploaded some pictures to my flickr account.
It was (as you can see) a beautiful wedding. Ryan and Julie looked amazing. Despite it being the rainy season in the Caribbean, and despite the fact that it rained nearly every day prior to the wedding, the skies were clear that day.
As you can guess, St. Thomas is mighty hot during the month of August. And, it isn’t normal heat. I went to Sedona, Arizona following my week in St. Thomas. That was normal heat. The heat in St. Thomas is heavy. I think the term that meteorologists use is opressive. But, as long as you drink plenty of water and make a point of regularly taking breaks (especially in air-conditioned bars), you should be fine.
Speaking of bars, if there is one thing that anyone who has been to the Caribbean before will tell you is that the rum is great. And, when buying it in St. Thomas, it can be quite a steal. I, in fact, brought a few bottles of liquor back with me. My bottle of coconut rum is quickly being depleted, unfortunately. But, I sure am enjoying it while it is here.
As I mentioned earlier, I went straight from St. Thomas to Sedona, Arizona. I am hoping to get more pictures up on Flickr soon enough. And, when I do, I will let you all know.
